I've been lucky enough to make it a priority...not for the wedding, but for a healthy life.
Somehow I have managed to turn into quite the gymrat these days. I work out in the 'no-sign-up' area...where it's a free-for-all for equipment between the meat-heads and the marathoners. My friend Abby and I have staked claim to a little corner in the back and you can find us there about four times a week.
So I thought it only fitting that I share some of our workouts with you, other brides-to-be...so that you can do what you can between arranging seating charts and dress fittings to make sure that thing FITS when the big day comes!!
A typical workout:
30 minutes of cardio- either on a stationary bike, tredmil, or elliptical.
Abs:
50 crunches
50 side crunches
50 bicycle crunches
V-sit for 1 minute 2 times.
50 horizontal scissors
50 rotating crunches with a 10lb weight on a decline bench. (Knees are up held in place by the bench arm, lean back and twist abdomen holding the weight in both hands moving your arms from side to side. Like this)
Legs:
In sets of 10
30 Box Jumps
30 Pulsing Squats
30 Jump Squats
Wall sit for 1 minute 2 times
50 Calf raises
Mountain Climbers or Floor Sprints for 30 seconds 2 times.
We usually rotate days and do upper-body instead of legs every other workout day.
Arms:
Choose 6 or 7 and do 3 Sets of 12---Get rid of back-fat and arm-fat!!!
Bicep Curls
Seated Row with Resistance
Lateral Pull downs-like you're smashing a pop can with your shoulder blades!!
Dumbbell Flies-- try 8lb weights.
Dumbbell Lateral Raises
Dumbbell Triceps Kick Backs
One-Arm Dumbbell Rows
Triceps Dips with Straight Legs
Military Presses
Shoulder shrugs with weight in each hand.
Overhead Tricep Extension
Here is a good link to see what all of these exercizes look like!
And when you don't have 2 hours to get all that in....here is a quick and intense 4 minute workout that will have you burning!!
Cheers to getting in shape not only for your wedding but for life!!! It's addicting!!
