I love my job. A Deployment Engagement Session, sneak peak...

Sometimes I get overwhelmed by how much I love what I do.
Katie contacted me a week or so ago and said her fiance, Levi, got his papers. He's with the Army National Guard and would be heading out for deployment training in a week. They just got engaged and she desperately wanted to do an engagement session before he left.
We sent frantic emails, planning and discussing ideas, and it all resulted in this for inspiration:

Katie, thank you for allowing me to photograph such a milestone. Thank you for 'getting' my inspiration and bringing such a personalized flare to it.
This session holds a special place in my heart, for once I knew I had something in common with the 'groom' and that was we could talk a little about the Guard.  I know a tenth of what the Soldiers know, but still I felt somewhat connected and felt a little closer to them knowing that he will be serving alongside my little brother. [not logistically, but figuratively]
Levi, best of luck to you. Thank you. Thank you. And thank you, again! There are not words to express the amount of gratitude I feel, knowing your sacrifice for this country and it's people. May God be with you. And should you run into my brother over there, give him the biggest hug for me!!

Thank you two! I hope to see you soon, white dress and tux in tow. :-) You are both beautiful!!
