Getting published and being modest.

I hate starting a blog post with "So...." but yet, I do it every time.
How about this time we just say "Oh Snap!" and then get right into it...kay?

Oh Snap! I've been obsessed with eye lashes lately. Ever since I wore falsies for Halloween, I can't get them big enough...
Here's some lash love Justin got for me!!! :-)
I love the way he photographs me. I feel pritty..oh so pritty!

The weather here has been wet, but its funny because every time I go out in it, I feel like I am as cool as Jamie Delaine, one of my favorite photographers from Vancouver. A good amount of her sessions show the rainy days, and they seem somehow hip. Raaaara....anyway. I'm getting some work published in a local magazine. The Stark County About magazine is doing a spot on local weddings, and Meredith and Alex's fiesta wedding is a part of it! It's pretty cool to get that kind of exposure locally.

Sarah and Trevor's purple and green wedding was featured this week as well, on a wedding blog where future brides can go to get ideas for their big day.  It's crazy how fast cute wedding stuff travels in this industry. And it's not just about the photography, in fact, probably hardly about the photography. Most people are interested in the wedding detail ideas...and I'm fine with that, because my clients have great details!!!!

A congrats to Sarah and Trevor Dreher for being featured on Something old, Something new for their unique color scheme.
And congrats to Meredith and Alex for having the wedding of their dreams, a Mexican Fiesta!

Now, for the modesty part. I've been asked many times, many questions about camera function and business processes by friends and family, or anyone using a DSLR in my vicinity. I had the fleeting thought that I should host a class. Then I came back down to reality and realized that no one would want to take a class from me, I'm new, inexperienced and still learning. Then today, on a whim decided to test the waters and see if ANYONE would be interested. I NEVER expected anyone to respond to my post. But they did. And now I am thinking, the reasons that I thought before why I SHOULDN'T host a class are precisely the reason that I SHOULD. I can learn from others just as much if not more than they can from me. And I have information to share, so why not share it. I am modest. I'm not claiming that my skills or work is worthy of being taught, I am simply hoping to open the lines of communication between a group of creative people in order to better the whole group, myself most definitely included. I'm humbled that anyone was interested to learn from me. If we continue to learn, we will never stop growing.

Happy Monday!!
